STM Permissions Guidelines Signatory Programme FAQs and Set Up
< Return to Help Topics
What is the STM Permissions Programme?
The STM Permissions Programme is only available to publishers who are signatories of the STM Permissions Guidelines.
This programme allows publishers signed up to the STM guidelines to automate or semi-automate responses to requests that are eligible for a Free of Charge licence under the guidelines.
Do I have to opt all my titles into the programme?
No. As with the Free of Charge and Fee Payable Licensing Programmes, you can choose to only include certain titles in the programme or exclude titles from the STM Permissions Guidelines.
Do I have to fully automate responses to requests that are eligible for an STM licence?
No. As with the Free of Charge and Fee Payable Licensing Programmes, you can choose to either fully automate responses or you can manually review of all requests that qualify for the programme.
What happens to STM permissions that fall outside of the STM guidelines?
Requests that fall outside of the guidelines are set to pending and will have a partial quote placed against them (if you have set up pricing in the Fee Payable Licensing Programme.)
Requests above the guidelines will not have any automated responses issued to the requestor.
